Who’s Covered Under Medicaid

Centennial Care provides coverage to the following groups of individuals from the state of New Mexico:

• Mature, disabled, and blind residents
• Adults with an income up to 138 percent of the federal poverty level
• Pregnant women for maternity care providers with a family income of up to 250 percent of the poverty level
• Children between 7 and 18 years old can receive CHIP coverage if they are part of families that earn up to 240 percent of the poverty level
• Children and babies around the age of six-years-old qualify if the household income is at or below 300 percent of the poverty level

Due to the growth of the Medicaid program, now more blind, elderly, and disabled residents can receive medical care through the use of the state funded program.

To be able to apply for coverage under the Medicaid program in New Mexico, you have to complete an program application. You can do this online in the state application page, or you may print the application, sign it, and ship it to the state’s Medicaid office. The state’s Human Services Department provides plenty of information with respect to applying for Medicaid benefits.
